Adventure, Creativity & Why I Always Pack Paints
May 05, 2026
We’re heading off on an adventure soon.
There’ll be open roads, changing scenery, beautiful detours, and that feeling of freedom that only travel seems to bring.
I’ll be riding on the back of the adventure motorbike, with my husband leading the way, while I do what I do best… take it all in.
The colours.
The atmosphere.
The little details.
The moments you never plan for.
Do I Paint While I’m Away?
Absolutely.
Maybe not in the usual way.
I won’t be packing large canvases or setting up acrylic paints on a roadside table. But creativity doesn’t need to look the same everywhere.
Instead, I bring my travel art kit.
A small set of watercolours.
Ink markers.
A tiny journal.
Simple tools that let me create wherever I am.
Creativity Doesn’t Need Perfect Conditions
Many people think art needs time, space, and a dedicated room.
But often the most beautiful creativity happens in-between life.
At a café stop.
On a balcony.
During a quiet moment after a day exploring.
In a quick sketchbook page before bed.
Art can travel with you.
Why This Matters
Creativity isn’t something you switch on only when life is calm.
It can be part of the adventure.
It can help you notice more, feel more, remember more.
And often the inspiration we gather out in the world becomes the magic we bring back home.
A Little Reminder
You don’t need a studio to be creative.
You don’t need the perfect setup.
You only need willingness to notice and begin.
Sometimes all it takes is a tiny paint set and an open road.
